Balloon FACTS
ARES BIO-DEGRADEABLE?
ARE BALLOONS BIO-DEGRADEABLE?
All of our latex balloons are 100% biodegradable (Foil and bubble balloons are not) If you plan to release your balloons, we would recommend bio-degradeable ribbon.
IS IT SAFE TO INHALE HELIUM BALLOONS?
NO! IT IS NOT EVER SAFE TO INHALE HELIUM! IT CAN CAUSE DEATH.
It is not safe to inhale helium from a balloon (several times in a row). Helium is an asphyxiant. If you breath mostly helium, it will suffocate you and you will die. Taking a single suck of helium from a balloon so you will talk funny is not dangerous.
HOW LONG DOES BALLOONS FLOAT WITH HELIUM?
In Hawaii, especially in Kona due to our hot and humid weather, latex balloons do not last as it would in cooler temperatures. There are so many different factors (Altitude/Temperature/Location). If your event will be in an outdoor setting, it will last from 4-6 hours depending if it has direct sunlight. If your event is in an air conditioned venue. Latex balloons can last 6-8 hours or longer depending on the size of the balloons. Balloons do not like heat and the helium will expand. Also Mylar balloons will need to be under-inflated if the altitude is higher than 1000' sea level due to expansion. We use pure helium, unlike the portable tanks sold in the stores that have part air/part helium.
We will do our best to make sure your balloons last the longest possible for your special event.
WHAT TYPES OF BALLOONS ARE AVAILABLE?
Balloons come in all different shapes, sizes and materials:
Latex balloons are made out of rubber and are 100% Bio-degradeable. They come in so many different sizes, colors and shapes such as Geo Blossom and Heart as well as printed.
Mylar (Foil) Balloons come in a wide variety of shapes, sizes and colors.
Bubble Balloons are made of clear plastic and comes in a limited amount of sizes and styles.
BALLOON MAINTENANCE:
In Cold air your foil/mylar balloon could appear deflated; when warmed up, it will fill out again. Reduce your auto A/C if too cold, latex balloons may pop and mylar/foil balloons will deflate.
Avoid exposing your balloon to extreme heat, as this could cause your balloons to pop.
DO NOT LEAVE IN A HOT CAR!
Please remove any balloons from plastic bags as soon as you reach your destination. Balloons need to air or it will deflate.
